The winners of the 6th annual Scottish Curry Awards 2013 were announced on the 10th of June 2013 at a swanky bash at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow.
Over 8000 nomination came in from all over Scotland and the race to be crowned at this year’s awards ceremony was an extremely tight contest.
Award-wining chef PJ- has been crowned Scotland’s chef of the year.
Heera Indian restaurant in Kent Road Glasgow was crowned Scotland’s Chef of the Year at the glittering Scottish Curry Awards at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow.
It was an extremely tight contest and nominations came in from all over Scotland in the race to be crowned Chef of the Year at this years awards ceremony. Over 700 people attended including a star studded line of VIPs and celebrities.
It was a vibrant night, representing the best of Scotland’s curry industry and the Chef of the Year Award was presented to Purvaiz Mohammed.
Chef (PJ) purvaiz said: “It is a real honour and I am truly humbled that the judges realised that Heera Indian restaurant is leading the way in promoting both the health and taste benefits of Proper Indian Food. I am delighted”.
“It has been our most successful year so far be crowned Chef of the Year is very humbling and overwhelming.”
Hans Ram, CEO of Gold star Chefs and award sponsor said: “Our judging panel agreed that purvaiz clearly creates the most authentic Indian Food in Scotland. He is passionate about changing people’s perceptions and promoting the health benefits of Proper Indian Food. Heera restaurant has enjoyed great success and is a testament to his unique approach.”
